Terms of service
Updated: 22 July 2026
openmat.fi is a free, not-for-profit service that helps people find Brazilian jiu-jitsu clubs and open mats in Finland. By using it you agree to these simple terms.
Information comes from third parties
The clubs, venues, schedules and other details on openmat.fi are provided by third parties — mainly the clubs and organisers themselves — or compiled from publicly available sources.
We do attempt to verify listings and keep them current, but mistakes are very possible: times change, clubs move or close, and details can be entered incorrectly.
Always check with the club
Before you travel to or attend an open mat, always confirm the details directly with the club — especially the day, time, address, price and whether visitors are welcome. Do not rely on openmat.fi as your only source.
No warranty and no liability
The service is provided “as is”, without any warranty that the information is accurate, complete or up to date.
To the extent permitted by law, the service provider is not responsible for the third-party information shown here, nor for any loss, wasted journey or other harm arising from relying on it. You use the information at your own discretion.
Submitting information
If you submit or edit a listing, you confirm that you may share the information and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit false, misleading, infringing or abusive content.
We moderate submissions and may edit, decline or remove any listing or uploaded media at our discretion. Uploaded content may be reviewed before it is published.
How moderation works
We moderate content using both automated tools and human review. Every uploaded image and video is automatically scanned for malware (ClamAV) and classified by an automated model that detects pornographic content; for videos, individual frames are sampled. The automated check never publishes anything by itself: it either lets content through or routes it to a person.
A human always makes the final decision. If the automated check flags content — or if the check cannot be completed for any reason — the content waits for manual review and is not shown until then. We do not remove any content by automation alone.
We apply restrictions diligently, objectively and proportionately, with regard to the rights and interests of everyone involved (Digital Services Act (EU) 2022/2065, Art. 14).
Use of the data and our rights
The compiled directory on openmat.fi — the clubs, venues, schedules and their arrangement as a whole — is a database in whose making we have substantially invested. This collection is protected by the EU sui-generis database right (Database Directive 96/9/EC; in Finland, § 49 of the Copyright Act).
You may freely browse and link to the service for personal, non-commercial use. Extracting a substantial part — or repeatedly and systematically extracting even insubstantial parts — and any copying, scraping, republication or other re-use of the data, especially for a competing or commercial purpose, is prohibited without our written permission.
Our API feed (e.g. /api/events.json) may be used only on its own terms and with an API key; using a key grants no rights in the database itself. For integrator access, contact info@openmat.fi.
Corrections and removal
If a listing about your club is wrong, or you want it removed, use the “report” link on the listing or email info@openmat.fi. You can also send us feedback through the feedback form.
To report illegal content, or if you disagree with a moderation decision, use the notice-and-action procedure described at /notice (Digital Services Act, Art. 16). We handle notices without undue delay.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. The date above shows the most recent change, and continued use means you accept the current terms.
Contact
The service is operated, and the database produced, by Vapaaradikaali (business ID 2302852-4, VAT FI23028524), Finland.
